This is an early classic from (FT) Fei Tai’s second year of production. The 2004 FT 8653 3+1 cake has a special ‘wild nectar’ fragrance that sets it apart from Xiaguan’s other products. It is rumored that the raw material for this tea includes wild tea in the blend and contains material from 2003, before the restructuring era.
After close to 20 years of aging, this tea has developed a pleasant astringency that is noticeable on the cheeks and tongue and a deep lasting sweetness that develops in the throat.
