This tea was commissioned by Taiwanese tea merchant Mr. Qiu in 2001 and then stored in mainland China for 2 years before arriving in Taiwan where it was entered in the Puerh yearbook as a tea from 2003.
The Yiwu material provides a bold flavor, thick texture, and transparent red soup. Its floral honey flavor lingers in the mouth with a long aftertaste.

Tightly compacted material of larger leaf compared to similar iron cake, and much higher quality material than other products from the same factory iron cake of 2003 that I have observed and/or drank. (no dust or hidden junk) Flavors of stewed currents, pine resins, low but noticeable background smoke. Enjoyable mouthfeel, honey like Yiwu sweetness which is unexpected with the trapping's of Xiaguan iron cake. Robust and broad presentation taste profile. Viscosity builds thickening into a deep bone marrow like brew. This material appears to be very well aged without significant humidity and or damp dank nose. Third infusion brings forth a drying in the mouth that was unexpected after the initial sweetness of Yiwu profile. As the material unfolded on infusion 5-7 smoke reappeared in the aroma, and Xiauan iron cake oils and barbeque hits poked out softly. Surpassed 10 steeps easily. Solid tea, and goes the distance.
