This gaiwan is made from a blend of stoneware and locally sourced wild clay.
These gaiwans are covered in a wild clay slip, then covered with 2 glazes. The layer of glaze under our moon white glaze creates a special effect.
The glaze has some crackles that will stain with use, enhancing its beauty over time. This gaiwan is glazed with our moon white glaze which is our best glaze for tea. It can be used for any kind of tea, green, oolong to puerh and everything in between with good results.
This gaiwan pairs well with these teapot stands.
