These cups are made from 100% wild-harvested clay. The iron-rich, coarse-textured dark brown clay is manually harvested in small batches from the pristine mountains around The Jade Leaf studio.
The blue & white color of this glaze is created from Japanese rice hull ash. The wild clay reacts intensely with the glaze creating spots that emerge through the glaze. This clay and glaze combination creates plenty of crackles in the glaze that will stain beautifully over time.
