This gaiwan is made from a blend of stoneware and locally sourced wild clay.
This gaiwan is covered in a wild clay slip, then covered with an ash glaze made from Japanese rice-hull ash.
This inner surface of this gaiwan is glazed with our moon white glaze which is our best glaze for tea. Some beautiful patterns emerge where the glazes meet. It can be used for any kind of tea, green, oolong to puerh and everything in between with good results.
This gaiwan pairs well with these teapot stands.
