select celadon teaware

Celadon wares are some of the most famous of ancient China. Historically celadon wares were reserved only for high-ranking officials because of their rarity due to the difficulty of production. Celadon glazes require high firing temperatures and a special firing technique to create their spectacular beautiful blue/green color. The kiln must be carefully fired to a reduction atmosphere. This means all the oxygen is consumed in the kiln. It is the reduction atmosphere in the kiln that turns the normally red iron to blue/green by pulling the oxygen molecules out of the glaze into the atmosphere.
